                                                                                                                                                      (Requires Installation of OSX 10.5.4)

New Features in ioGAS 4.0

3D Spin Plot

  • Display three variables in a 3D Plot environment. Log and scale axes, free rotation or use pre-set rotation views and display mineral compositions.

Correlation Matrix

  • Display classical (Pearson's) and Spearman Rank correlation matrix values in tabular format for selected variables. Right-click in a correlation cell to display a scatterplot.

Save Work Session

  • Open plot windows and other configured parameters are now automatically saved in ioGAS files and restored next time the dataset is opened.

New Spider Plot Menu

  • Our extensive library of spider plot normalisations is now displayed under a separate menu to enable easy viewing and selection of transformations.

Custom Percentile and Value Ranges

  • Attribute data using your own data range cut-offs. Save and apply to different datasets.

Principal Components Analysis

  • New report window with derived PCA values such as correlation, covariance (robust covariance), eigenvectors, eigenvalues and variations (%) able to be copied and pasted into 3rd party programs using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V keys. Display mineral compositions on plots generated from Principal Components Analysis calculated columns.

Classification Diagrams

  • Display mineral compositions on Classification Diagrams.

Additional Improvements

  • Combined Open/Import Dialog
  • Zoom In/Out Using Mouse Wheel
  • Improved Large Data File Handling
  • New Innov-X Import Utility Options
  • New Mahalanobis Distance Outlier Cut-Off Options
  • Display % Samples for Cross-Tabulation Combinations
  • New <5% and >95% Box Plot Mode
  • Enhanced Automatic Geochemical "Alias" Name Matching
  • Editable Attribute Manager Tabs
  • Improved Derived Column Handling
  • Transparency Mode in Parallel Coordinate and Spider Plots
  • 1950 Arc 34S, 35S and 36S added to GeoTiff export projection list

New Features in ioGAS 3.4

Principal Component Analysis
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is a multivariate ordination technique used to reduce the dimensionality of data for easy interpretation. PCA finds the best set of linear equations to use to reduce the number of variables that are needed to describe a dataset. Reducing multivariate data to 2 or 3 derived variables enables it to be more readily visualized in plots and images. A robust version of Principal Component Analysis is also available which includes a number of robust options to enable "outlier" samples to have reduced impact on the overall PCA calculations by assigning them less weighting.

Innov-X Omega Explore XRF File Support
New support for Innov-X CSV and DBF files captured using the Omega Explore handheld or X-50 Portable Lab XRF machines. Import options include automatic detection limit calculation, display % data above detection limit, set import threshold cutoff value and the ability to replace less then detection limit data with half detection value upon import. View original raw and error data with new calculated data columns for all variables.

Spider Plot – Change Column Display Mode
New display mode added to Spider Plots which enables normalised variables to be ordered from highest to lowest values.

New Features in ioGAS 3.3

Compute Mahalanobis Distance
The Mahalanobis Distance is a statistical calculation used with multivariate data to determine how atypical a sample is taking into account correlations between the variables. ioGAS also supports a "robust" version of the calculation which minimises the impact of outliers, thereby enhancing the method’s ability to detect anomalies. The calculated data may be used to create maps and images.

  • Use with raw or log-transformed data
  • Calculate by "colour" group – in effect a multivariate levelling tool
  • Display results as a specialised Probability Plot to attribute anomalies directly

Create Cross-Tabulation Tables
The new cross-tab utility can calculate the mean, median, standard deviation, minimum, maximum and coefficient of variation offset for selected variables according to two categorising or text variables. For example, quickly check that data is classified correctly when working with simplified and detailed geological or regolith classifications or check sample information based on company, sample type, prospect, mesh size, analytical method, etc.

Line (Time Series) Plots

  • Show sample locations and display other information using shape and size attributes on single line plots
  • Show sample locations and colour lines by attribute group on tiled line plots. Can also use shape and size attributes to show additional information

Point Density Settings
User defined point density settings can now be saved and used for future point density displays on XY, YX, SPLOM, Ternary plots and Attribute Maps.

Attribute Manager

  • Data values now displayed in Legend window as well as percentile values
  • The Attribute Manager window can be dragged outside of the program and run on dual screens
  • Expanded column pull-down list to support large column names
  • Copy and paste Attribute Manager contents into other programs using Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V

Other Enhancements in v3.3:

  • Import Excel spreadsheets that contain formulae
  • Specify column names when making attributes from variables
  • New busy/cancel dialogs when opening, importing, saving, reverting and generating plots & gridded images
  • Default classification diagram view now to diagram extents
