Building on the huge success of ioGAS, ioGlobal has formed a new company ioAnalytics to focus on the development of exploratory data analysis software. Importantly for ioGAS users, the strong links with ioGlobal’s geochemists remain so ioGAS will continue to develop and improve at the rapid rate our users have grown to expect.

This ioGAS release contains a number of significant enhancements to enable the interpretation and interrogation of your geochemical data more powerfully than ever before. Through our new interactive utilities users can quickly and easily design and distribute their own local data classification diagrams and calculations. Combined with the powerful ioGAS inbuilt aliasing capability, geochemical data manipulation has never been so simple. See below for a detailed list of new features:

New Features
Create Classification Diagrams
ioGAS 3.2 contains a new suite of drawing and editing tools to enable users to quickly and easily create and edit their own classification diagrams on XY Scatterplots and Ternary Plots.
- Add point, line, polyline and polygon reference objects
- Move, delete, rename, modify colour and set object visibility
- Ability to "Snap" to other objects
- Specify label positions
- Add title, comments and reference metadata
- Attribute data points using reference polygons
- Create diagram feature polygons from point density contours
- Create diagram feature polygons based on colour attribute contours.
New Calculations Menu
ioGAS now ships with a number of exploration indices, alteration, igneous chemistry and regolith calculations. Element/oxide/unit conversions can be automatically performed using the ioGAS inbuilt column "aliasing" functionality. Users can now create and save their own calculations.

Line (Time Series) Plots
ioGAS now supports the creation of line (time series) plots.
- Show visible data in file order on single or multiple (tiled) plot
- Variables coloured and scaled independently
Point Density Settings
New settings dialog which enables users to specify colouring, smoothing level, grid size and opacity parameters when generating point density plots on XY, YX, Scatter Plot Matrix and Ternary plots.
Other Enhancements in v3.2:
- Zoom in on an XY, Ternary or Attribute Map and apply updated attributes to only those data points within view. New icon on RHS (Right-Hand Side) toolbar.
- View values for additional variables when exporting an Attribute Map to Google Earth
- Point Density now available on Attribute Map toolbar
- Percentile values are shown in the Tooltip box on Ranked Variable maps (as well as the actual data values).
- Permanently delete any columns via new selection dialog
- Invisible rows can be permanently deleted
- Remove columns which contain only null values in Validate menu
- New column "File Order" added to data view enables columns to be re-ordered
- In the Select Variables dialog the "Select All" button now ignores columns that contain entirely nulls
- New "Reset Alias" button for each name in the Column Settings dialog
- Columns containing the strings "long" or "lat" will be guessed on import to be WGS84 Long / Lat decimal degrees
- Check for new version of program on program startup
- Added comprehensive warnings to make it harder to accidentally lose gas file or diagram edits when importing, opening or closing files
- If an attempt is made to log data less than or equal to zero a warning message is displayed in the status bar and a warning beep is issued
- Support for European characters in diagram and gas files
- Program now installs to new default location: ..//Program Files/ioAnalytics/ioGAS folder
- Spider Chart labels now tilted to allow longer labels without overlap
- Where "tied" ranks are present in the Attribute Manager and when displaying Ranked Variable maps the *mean* rank is used. This means that points with the same value will show the same colour
- The Attribute Manager is restored to view when the toolbar button is pressed
- Maximum number of auto-groups increased to 250
- Improved speed when creating auto-attribute groups
- Mean-log levelling on data which has a group with mean (logged) less than zero now displays without apparent 'flip'. (1.0 is added to the data to achieve this)
